Photos looked their best -- quite good for four-color, though no match for six-ink or higher photo printers' output -- in best mode on photo paper; an 8 by 10 took just under three minutes and borderless 4 by 6-inch prints averaged 1 minute and 7 seconds each. Actually, it uses a four-ink, five-cartridge system, because it's the first printer we've seen with two black cartridges -- not a regular black and a "photo black" as with some photo printers, just duplicate black ink tanks. Using the higher-capacity, more cost-efficient of Epson's two available replacement sizes, black cartridges cost $20 each and are rated for 795 pages, while color cartridges are $17 apiece and rated for 520. Review Dell Wasabi Ink-Free Mobile Printer Feb 14, 2009
Naturally only ZINK paper can work with the Wasabi printer and the quality is surprisingly good, although not quite a match to the full sized photo printers on the market. The colours can be a bit dark and theres some loss of detail, but more than fine for small sticker pics and it makes sense that Dell would go for a casual application for their first device.
